Why people call Michael
Some lawyers tell you what you want to hear so you'll sign. You'll hear what you're actually facing, including the parts you don't want.
The prosecutors and judges in Payne County aren't strangers. Michael has worked across from them for years and knows how they move.
This isn't a firm that drives in from Oklahoma City for a hearing and leaves. Michael lives here, coaches here, and answers for his work here.
Not a screener. Not an intake service. The man handling your case is the man on the phone.
Practice Areas
A charge is an accusation. The state still has to prove it. Most people plead before anyone tests whether it can.
Learn moreYou're fighting two cases. One for your record, one for your license. The second one has a deadline.
Learn moreWeight and alleged intent decide your exposure, not the substance alone. There's usually more room than people assume.
Learn moreA warrant doesn't expire. It waits. Better to walk in on your own terms than get picked up on a traffic stop.
Learn moreThe adjuster is friendly because friendly is cheaper than fair. Talk to someone before you sign anything.
Learn moreCall anyway. It costs nothing and takes ten minutes.
Learn moreWhat happens when you call
All of it. I’ve heard worse and I’m not here to judge you.
The charge, the range of punishment, and the realistic outcomes. No guarantees. Anyone who guarantees you a result is selling something.
What we do first, what we do next, and what I need from you.

More than an attorney
Michael has spent decades practicing law in Stillwater. Outside the courtroom he volunteers with the Cimarron Valley Humane Society and served on the Board of Directors at Wings of Hope. He’s coached youth sports here for years. Some of those kids are grown now. A few have called him.
None of that wins a case. It does mean he has to answer for his work at the grocery store, which is a kind of accountability most firms don’t have.
Evidence goes stale. Deadlines pass. The state keeps working whether you’ve called anyone or not. A consultation costs you nothing and an hour.
